Taha Hashmi
Taha Hashmi recently earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University, where he focused on biomaterials and their application in translational medical devices. His undergraduate research included advanced NMR-based characterization of biologic candidates for modulating chronic inflammation, as well as the development of electromagnetic-stimulation-based platforms for targeted cancer therapy. He was also involved in the development of wearable technologies to improve cardiovascular diagnosis and therapy in resource-limited settings.
These experiences strengthened his interest in device-driven, mechanism-informed interventions and in engineering material properties, interface design, and bioelectronic stimulation paradigms for therapeutic effect. He is particularly interested in applying this background in biomaterials and devices to neuroprosthetics and neuromodulation, especially in the development of biocompatible neural interfaces and stimulation systems relevant to neurology and neurosurgery.
